I suppose the title is a misnomer…The “His” candles have been out of stock on EdenFantasys every time I’ve looked at the site, so I’ve only had a chance to experience the “Hers” candle so far, and I must say I was quite pleased. (The content of the review is quite PG here, but family members of mine and other sensitive souls may want to bow out anyways for my EdenFantasys testimonial at the end.)

Candle - Illume his and hers (Hers - affection) Candle – Illume his and hers (Hers – affection)Special Features: Premium, Scented, Sensual enhancer; Weight: 1 lb; Fragrance: Hers – affection; Base: Soy wax; Product Type: Candle; Manufacturer: Illume candles

The “Hers” candle is called Affection. It’s supposed to blend with the “His” candle (Seduction) to create an amazing third fragrance. Sadly, I haven’t been to test that theory out, but I’m definitely going to keep my eyes peeled for when the other fragrance becomes available.

The scent of Affection is quite delicious – Tahitian vanilla, coconut cream, and sugar. Both Tom and I are quite fond of the scent of vanilla, and I like baked goods-scented candles in general. This yummy candle helps to relax me as I get ready for a nice massage. It’s not specifically listed as a massage candle, but we’ve used it as one. This, of course, will cut short its 35 hour burn life, but I don’t mind.

The candle is soy based, and although I have quite sensitive skin, it doesn’t melt so hot as to burn me when the hot wax is applied to my skin. Massage oils can only do so much, after all. Sometimes, you’ve got such pain in your back that you need heat to soothe it, not just applied pressure. The heat from the wax was very soothing, the texture of the wax very soft and smooth, and the scent of the candle very calming. It certainly did the trick when it came to putting me in a positive mood.

The candle itself sports a double wick for more even burning. (I hate when there’s a giant ridge of unmelted wax on the outside edge of the candle.) The wax burns clean, too, so you don’t have to worry about soot stains on your ceiling. It’s a very pretty candle, too, and you wouldn’t need to be embarrassed about having it on your nightstand if your mother or mother-in-law happened to walk into your room for any reason.

Because I love candles so much, the only way to really ruin a candle, in my opinion, is for it to have an offensive odor. The Illume Hers Candle certainly met (and exceeded) my minimum standards, and I was pleasantly surprised that it turned out to be an effective massage candle, as well. I really look forward to getting my hands on the complementary His scent, which smells of woods, spices, and white musk. I think they’ll be a divine combination when burned together.

I would like to thank EdenFantasys for the opportunity to test out the Illume Hers Candle, which was provided to me at no cost in exchange for my testimonial. I was not obligated to post a review of the product, but I felt it would be beneficial to my readers to talk about the yummy candle instead of simply saying how much I appreciated the chance to get “free” product as compensation for my kind words about the company.

Sex toys - EdenFantasys adult toys store

This is not my first time working with EdenFantasys. I’ve reviewed the Tenderness and Passion Collection, a sexy cop costume, and the sensual lace cami set. You can join, too! It’s one method of entry for the giveaway below…

  1. If I win, I DEFINITELY want to get the JimmyJane massage candle sampler set available for the holidays! I’ve been dying to try one of those candles and what better way to introduce myself to them than by trying out SIX different scents? 🙂

  2. Oh man, I wish they made unscented massage candles- they sound like the bomb. The fragrance would make DH so sick, however. 🙁

  3. I know this is going to sound like a cop out, but it really isn’t… I *love* candles and the baked goods/vanilla piece is one of my favorites, too (citrus and berry are the others). I would love to try out that candle, although given my sensitive nose, I’ll probably skip the his candle 🙂 Debating the ambassador program….

  4. If I won the gift card, I would use at least part of it to buy a book or DVD on massages (to go with the massage oil I got from Eden Fantasys a while back).

  5. If I were to win the gift card I would probably put to use purchasing the new Cleo by ONO. Gorgeous colors, waterproof, unique design. I want one so bad!
