Dear TJ,
Try as I might, you don’t understand about weekends. After a quick poll of some of my mom friends on Twitter last night, I decided that you might be old enough to come downstairs and watch Noggin for a little while by yourself in the morning. Waking up before 7:00 am and getting out of bed by 7:30 am on a Saturday morning has never been my idea of a good time.
I tried to convince you to come downstairs by yourself this morning, but instead you had a temper tantrum and told me you couldn’t go by yourself. You were in and out of Mommy and Daddy’s room three times in five minutes – shouting “Ap-ple juice!” – before I finally dragged myself out of bed to come downstairs with you. I found you sitting at the top of the stairs waiting for me.
When we came downstairs together, I sat with you on the couch and talked with you. When I asked you why you didn’t want to go downstairs and watch Noggin without me, you said, “It’s no fun watching Noggin by myself.” Then I suggested that you could’ve played in your room for a little while before coming downstairs. But you had the same answer. “It’s no fun by myself either.”
All the while we were having this talk, you were snuggled up against me, holding my hand and looking into my eyes. I’m really tired, but I’ll suck it up. You’re such a sweet boy and I love you so much.
Love,
Mommy

Mr Linky!
Oh, he is charming. The ladies will be in trouble some day, I think. 😉
I just hope he doesn’t turn his charms on any girls whose fathers have shotguns when he’s a teenager. I’m going to be getting a lot of phone calls, I think.
It is so hard when they are just that bit younger and don’t understnad that Mummy wants a bit of a sleep in with Daddy.. Just keep breathing and keep up the mantra – this too will pass… it gets better – my two ( aged 5 and 3) can get cereal and turn on the tv in the mornings by themselves. just as well – they are up at 6 am and thankfully usually get distrated by toys or colouring in to want to turn the telly on.
