Dear Pooks,

Thursday was your first ever field trip. Your class went to see the reptile show! I was worried that you wouldn’t like it, because it would involve sitting in a room with a lot of people, and being close to animals that you usually give a nervous but respectful distance.

But you did GREAT!

Grandma Kitty called me afterwards to let me know that you sat quietly the whole time. You and the rest of your class sat like big boys and big girls even though other kids were running around. Miss Maureen said you did an excellent job, too. We’re all so proud of you!

You were enrapt with the reptile lady as she talked about all of the different reptiles. You touched a snake and a turtle! I don’t think a turtle is a reptile, so maybe I misheard Grandma Kitty. But when I asked you how the snake felt when you touched it, you said, “It was cold.” When you told Daddy about it, you told him, “It was cold and slimy.”

You have no idea how happy I am that you enjoyed the reptile show so much.

Love,
Mommy
