The holiday season is upon us. It can be a difficult time when arguments, mistakes, misunderstandings, betrayals, and other unpleasant things get in the way of getting in that holiday spirit – especially if you’re the one who screwed up and you don’t know how to make it right.

Maybe you’re just not good with words, or maybe you usually are, but you don’t know where to start.

Let me write an apology letter for you.

It’s the gift they’ll never be expecting. And it’s not just stuff. It means something. Maybe it’s what you need to move on from whatever it is that’s going on.

You may not be able to put a price tag on the potential for forgiveness, but I am asking $25 for my writing services in this matter. (If you check out my copywriting rates, you’ll see this is a bargain!)

After you’ve submitted your payment via PayPal, send me an email at content at phenomenalcontent.com with the subject line “My Apology Letter.” In your email, please tell me the name of the person you are apologizing to (as you would like it to appear in the letter), your name (as you would like to sign it), your PayPal email address, and a description of what you need to apologize for. Please include as much detail as possible – I will keep this information strictly confidential. In addition to being a professional writer, I also got my Master’s degree in Psychology with the intention of going into counseling. That may not have worked out, but I still take confidentiality very seriously. I don’t disclose the names of my writing clients unless they disclose the working relationship first, so your secret is safe with me.

I will not judge anyone for what they want to apologize for – whether it’s saying nasty things to your mother-in-law, missing your best friend’s wedding, or even having an affair – I will try to put your heartfelt desire to make things right into words. (Although please, if you’ve had an affair or something, don’t make this apology your confession – it should be something already known, where you’re just trying to aid in the healing of your relationship.)

If I do not feel I can adequately address your unique situation, I will let you know when I return your PayPal payment. I won’t BS something if I don’t think I can help.

Please specify if you would like me to email you the apology letter as a .doc attachment, copy it into the body of an email, or if you would like a paper copy of the letter mailed to your address. (You should look it over first and sign it with a pen before delivering it to its intended recipient.)

Business has been a little slow for me for the past few months, so I’ve been trying to think of some creative ways to make a little extra money. And I hope that, in some way, I might be able to help some families and friends heal strained relationships this holiday season. Thanks for humoring me.

  1. Clever idea! It can be so hard to find the words to say when you need to apologize- this might make it easier for some people.
