Poor TJ woke up two nights ago screaming, “Mommy! Mommy! Mommy!” When I got into his room, he was going on about ants and flies in his crib. The poor guy has never really gotten rid of his fear of bugs. (Although he loves his “little bugger” pajamas with a cartoon bug on them. Go figure!)

He screamed out like that three or four more times within the hour after I put him back to bed. The next morning, he was telling me that he dreamt there was a bumblebee in his crib, too.

The best thing we can do is to keep getting up and rocking with him until he calms down whenever he has these nightmares. I remember reading about a study they did that said that kids who were comforted when they had nightmares as a toddler tended to have fewer nightmares as they got older. Let’s hope that holds true!
