Two years old, TJ. You’re two years old. It doesn’t seem possible you’ve been around that long, and at the same time, it doesn’t seem possible there was ever a time when you weren’t here.

What don’t you do now? You love to jump up and down on the sofa, in your crib, in Mommy and Daddy’s bed. You climb into the car and into your car seat, then sit quietly and wait to be buckled in. You can open door knobs. You can almost climb out of your crib. You can climb in and out of big boxes without help. You do ask for “hep” when you need it though. You can take your shoes, socks, pants, and diaper off by yourself. You’re still working on shirts, though. You sing along with the Jeopardy theme music, and many of the songs on Noggin.

I’ll need a whole separate post to mention all of the new things you’re saying. You always have so much to say, and you’re quite the little parrot!

You’ve become attached, not only to your grandmas now, but to your great-grandma, your grandpa, and your Uncle Josh. You get very upset when any of them leaves your sight. You have so many people who love you. You’ve even started having more fun with Grandpa, who likes to chase you and play ball with you, although he still does make the duck noises that have always cracked you up.

We had your birthday party at Grandma Kitty’s tonight. You still don’t quite understand what this whole birthday thing is about; I had to open all of your presents for you. But you built a whole tower out of Mega Blocks that was taller than you! All by yourself! Grandma Debbie held it steady for you so it didn’t topple over, but you were the one who put all of the blocks together. You had a whole slice of pizza from Cuasto’s and ate a piece of the yummy Oreo frosting chocolate cake that Uncle Josh made for you. What a big appetite! And you didn’t start screaming when your friend Gavin started to have a temper tantrum of his own. Good for you!

There’s so much you can do now, I know I haven’t mentioned it all. But your two year checkup is on Monday, so if I’ve left out anything big, I can talk about it then. You do amaze me. I love you so much, and I know you love me to… you’ve even told me so!
