Dear Kid Saturday – This Is It

Dear TJ,

This is it. The last weekend ever before you start school. Kindergarten starts on Monday. Where did the time go?

You had your Welcome to Kindergarten orientation on Wednesday where you met your teacher and got to ride the bus. You didn’t even want to sit with Mommy and Daddy on the bus like the other kids. You sat with your friend Rebecca from nursery school, because she’s going to be in your class.

I know you’re going to do fine in kindergarten. You’re so excited, although I know you’re nervous too because of how much you’ve been acting out lately. I’m not doing so well, because I had a panic attack that started while we were waiting to get on the bus on Wednesday, and it didn’t want to go away on its own. I’m going to be an absolute basket case on Monday when you get on the school bus at your actual bus stop for your very first day of kindergarten.

I’m going to try and keep the tears back until you’re gone on the bus, though. My big boy.
