Dear TJ,
I apologize for not getting to write our Saturday letter until Sunday. Time got away from me, and when I wasn’t able to write it before Daddy and I went to our concert last night, we didn’t get back home until it was already after midnight.
But I would like to tell you how proud I am of you and your bike riding abilities. Daddy finally got your bicycle out of storage so you could ride it. It has been very warm and sunny out! When he took you outside to ride, he said that you were able to cycle the pedals around four or five times before you’d get stuck and need help starting over again. This was still pretty awesome, because last year, you weren’t able to get the pedals around at all.
Then, on Memorial Day, you asked me to take you out to ride your bike. You rode around the grass island in the middle of our courtyard parking lot with me walking next to you. You got about halfway around on your first circuit with me before I had to help you get started again. The second time, you got more than three-quarters of the way around! The third time, you got just about the same distance around before you stopped… and even then, it was mostly because you saw our friend Kate pull up, and you wanted to stop and talk to her.
You’ve made such great progress, buddy. Keep riding!
Love,
Mommy
