TJ peed on the potty today! WAHOO!
He and Tom came upstairs to wake me from my nap this afternoon. TJ’s portable toilet-top potty seat was in our room. (I have no idea why.) TJ decided it would be a great idea to sit on the potty. So I set up the seat, helped him out of his pants and diaper, and he sat on the potty.
He remember that I’d told him about special big boy potty stickers, and he asked for one. I reminded him that he only got a sticker once he went pee or poop in the potty. So… he sat there. And sat for a little while longer, pointing himself down the way he’s been told to do.
Then, all of a sudden, he peed. Just a little trickle, but he went!
I gave him hugs and kisses. I told him what a big boy he was and how proud I was. And then I brought him the stickers so he could pick one out. He picked a blue sticker with a green train on it. I asked him if he wanted it on his hand or his shirt… he put it on his tummy. We had to move it, because his diaper covered it up. But he just placed it higher up on his tummy.
Apparently, I was yelling. Tom couldn’t figure out what was wrong upstairs until I specifically addressed him. We made quite a fuss over the whole thing so that TJ would see that this potty thing is pretty cool, and he’ll want to do it again.
What a big boy we’ve got!
