Dear TJ,
I have to say, I really enjoyed the floral arrangement I got from Price Chopper and Cook’s Ham. The lilacs made the whole room smell pretty, and they were just beautiful to look at.
So when you realized they died – they may have lasted longer if I’d remembered to water them this week – you were actually crying this morning. You told me that you had wanted me to plant them outside so they would grow in our garden, and I had to explain to you that you can’t plant cut flowers; they only last for a short time in water.
So when we went grocery shopping at Price Chopper today, I let you help me pick out some new fresh flowers. We got some beautiful Gerbera daisies – magenta with bright yellow centers. They’re potted, so they will continue to grow as long as we remember to water them. It’s your job to help me remember to water them.
I’m so glad you have an appreciation for nature and beauty. I do hope you don’t inherit my black thumb though. Grandma Debbie’s green thumb seemed to skip over me, but hopefully you can help keep our plants alive!
Love,
Mommy

TJ – Way to go on having new flowers to take care of. The boys love the ones we plant and try to keep alive.
My flowers from Price Chopper also were tossed this week. I was too lazy/distracted to give them fresh water. They did a wonderful job spreading their pollen all over our electronics though.
