Dear TJ,

I didn’t get a chance to write my letter to you last Saturday because of Michele’s wedding. But you said something adorable while we were getting ready to go, and I want to remember it.

After I’d gotten dressed for the wedding, I came downstairs and told you, “I love you, TJ.”

You turned to me and said, very seriously, “Um, I think you should call me ‘buddy.'”

“You like when I call you ‘buddy?'”

“Yeah.”

“Okay. I love you, buddy.”

“I love you too, Mommy.”

You’ve reminded me several times since then that you like to be called “buddy.” It is just one of the sweetest things.

Love,

Mommy
