Yoplait Greek Coconut Yogurt

I have to say it. Yoplait Greek Coconut Yogurt is officially the best yogurt I have ever tasted. I was contacted to write a review of Yoplait Greek Yogurt, and the two flavors I got to try were coconut and cherry pomegranate. The cherry pomegranate was pretty tasty – although I have texture issues when it comes to how soggy fruit gets in yogurt – but coconut was my hands-down favorite.

Yoplait Greek Yogurt Nutrition

When this whole Greek yogurt thing started, I didn’t know what the big deal was. How is Greek yogurt different than other yogurt? As it turns out, it’s the extra protein. Greek yogurt is thicker than “regular” yogurt, and it’s packed with protein. The coconut flavor I like so much comes in a 4-pack. In one serving you get:

  • 110 Calories
  • 0g Fat
  • 8g Protein
  • 25% DV Calcium
  • 15% DV Phosphorus
  • 10% DV Vitamin A
  • 10% DV Vitamin D

There’s something deeply satisfying about enjoying a tasty cup of yogurt with the knowledge that it’s actually quite healthy for you – and you won’t be hungry again in 30 minutes. My old non-Greek yogurt snacks left me wanting for more, but the protein I get from Yoplait Greek helps me feel fuller longer. And since I don’t normally get enough protein in my diet, this is a lovely way to get it.

Coconut Cookies & Cream Yogurt Parfait Recipe

This is a really simple but indulgent snack. I used to love getting those YoCrunch cups with the little crushed up pieces of Oreos or M&Ms to mix in with the vanilla or strawberry yogurt. I guess they make some with Greek yogurt now, but my recipe is slightly better for you! I won’t go so far as to call it healthy, but it’s slightly healthier than the alternatives. It’s healthier because I use WhoNu cookies, which are fortified with fiber and a multitude of vitamins and minerals.

  • 2 4-oz cups Yoplait Greek Coconut Yogurt
  • 4 WhoNu Chocolate Sandwich Cookies

Pour one cup of yogurt into the bottom of a parfait glass. Crush two cookies and sprinkle the crumbs on top of the yogurt to make a layer. Pour the second cup of yogurt on top of the cookie layer. Crush the remaining two cookies and sprinkle on top. Grab a spoon and dig in!

If you don’t have a parfait glass, aren’t hungry enough for two cups of yogurt, or you’re just plain impatient, you can just peel back the top of the yogurt cup, crush a cookie or two on top, and mix it all together with your spoon. It ain’t pretty, but it’s delicious!

I know I’ve used a lot of superlatives in this review, calling it the best yogurt I’ve ever tasted and such. But if you know how much I love a good bargain and often only shop the sales, this might be the best way to prove how much I love Yoplait Greek Coconut Yogurt…

I buy Yoplait Greek Coconut Yogurt when it’s not on sale. I buy it full price at the grocery store. Without coupons. And for anyone who’s heard me brag about getting the beautiful dress I wore to the party on the last night of the 2012 Type-A Conference for $17 on clearance, you know that means I like it a lot!
