Yoplait Greek 100 Yogurt Review and Giveaway

by Christina Gleason on September 7, 2012

Not too long ago, I declared that Yoplait Greek Coconut Yogurt was the best yogurt I’d ever tasted. So when Yoplait reached out to me again to have me review their Yoplait Greek 100 Yogurt, I said yes! This time, they sent me the vanilla and mixed berry flavors. Again, neither TJ nor I cared for the mixed berry kind. Much like the last fruit flavor we tried, neither of us cared for the soggy bits of fruit in the yogurt. The flavor itself wasn’t bad, but there were way too many berries to be able to pick them out and just eat the yogurt itself. So if you like a lot of fruit in your yogurt, you’ll probably appreciate that. :-)

Why Yoplait Greek 100?

I was already a fan of the original Yoplait Greek yogurt, and the coconut flavor contained only 110 calories. This made me wonder why Yoplait needed to skim 10 calories off the top for Yoplait Greek 100, but then I looked at the nutrition information for some of their other Yoplait Greek flavors. Honey Vanilla clocks in at 150 calories, and the Blueberry contains 160 calories. So if you are watching your calorie intake and don’t want to worry about checking the label to see if your favorite flavor comes in too much over 100 calories, I can see the appeal.

Oh, and I should mention that Yoplait Greek 100 is the only Greek yogurt endorsed by Weight Watchers. I don’t follow their program, but if you do, it has a PointsPlus value of 2.

Wanna know a secret? I still like crumbling a chocolate sandwich cookie into the Yoplait Greek 100 Vanilla. 100 calorie yogurt + 50 calorie cookie = 1 tasty 150 calorie snack. It’s a pretty satisfying bedtime snack, too. I need to eat before taking my bedtime medication – no empty stomachs! – and this is a much smarter choice than having a brownie or other high fat/high calorie treat. (I’m not a stranger from those.)

Yoplait Greek 100 Giveaway

Yoplait is also providing a case of Yoplait Greek 100 to one of my lucky readers! If you’d like to give it a try, why not do it for free? I’m using Rafflecopter to administrate the giveaway.

I usually have a plain or a honey or a vanilla flavored yogurt and I add sliced bananas or pomegranate seeds into it.

I put banana and kiwi chunks in vanilla yogurt. LOVE it for a sweet treat that doesn’t have tons of calories.
