Tell Congress to strengthen the Consumer Product Safety Commission

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi couldn’t believe it when Nancy Nord, head of the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), stated that she doesn’t support legislation to increase resources for her agency to keep our kids safe from toxic toys. How could she not want her agency to do better? Millions of toys have been recalled after months on the market, exposing our kids to dangerous levels of lead.

There is only one inspector right now whose job it is to test toys. One. How many new toys are coming out all the time, especially with the holiday shopping season rapidly approaching? There’s no possible way that one person can possibly do an adequate job of protecting our children from harmful toys, which is why we’ve had this perpetual wave of recalls.

That’s why we need to petition Congress. Nancy Pelosi came to MomsRising.org and asked for their continuing help in this matter. Won’t you help MomsRising.org reach 30,000 signatures on their petition telling Congress:

We demand safe, lead-free toys for children. Congress must strengthen the agencies responsible for protecting kids from toxic products and remove the bureaucrats who are standing in the way.
