Last week, Beth from The Angel Forever and I were interviewed by local news reporter Elaine Houston, who does a weekly segment called “Today’s Women” for WNYT. The interview was conducted at Beth’s house, and it was an exceptionally windy day – though thankfully not as windy as it was this week when Beth lost a piece of her roof to wind gusts of 70 mph.

The interview aired last night on News Channel 13 at 5:30. You can view the video on their Web site here: Mom blogs are a big hit. I’m not sure how long that link and video will remain active, but I’m guessing it will be good at least until June.

I’m pretty glad that they used mostly footage of Beth talking. I may be quite eloquent online, but I found myself getting tongue tied when talking with Elaine, even though she did her best to put us both at ease. (There’s a reason I’m a writer!) You do get to see me chuckle a few times.

It’s interesting to see how an hour and change can be boiled down into a two-minute news segment. (Which aired just before Joe Bruno’s sentencing was announced!) It was a very positive piece – mentioning both the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration and BlogHer, though the latter wasn’t mentioned by name.

I look forward to speaking with Elaine Houston again – hopefully without as much blustering – when Beth and I are at liberty to share more about the little projects we’ve been working on together.
