One year ago tonight, right about this time, I was wondering when I would be going to the hospital. I’d been having contractions for a few hours that were erratic but getting closer. At 11:00, the doctor on call told me to take a hot shower to see if that stopped the contractions, then to try and get some sleep. The hot shower felt good, but nothing really stopped. I did try to go to bed, though.

At 2:00, they were three minutes apart. Time for the hospital. I had no idea that I’d have my TJ in just about 10 hours.

TJ turns one year old tomorrow. Tom’s taken the day off from work. We’ve told our realtor we’re not doing any showings. We’re having a big family lunch at Red Robin tomorrow. It’s the only place around here that can suitably accommodate our large party while still being TJ-friendly. It’s also rather appropriate because it’s where we told the parents I was pregnant.

I can’t believe he’s going to be a year old.
