You’re growing up so fast. You regularly let go of things and stand on your own for up to 30 seconds at a time. We always have an eye on you, wondering if this is the time you’re going to take that first step. You have 8 teeth and it seems like you may get all the rest of them very soon! You can be a little fuss bucket sometimes because of your teeth and we feel awful for you. We’re doing what we can to make you feel better.

Sometimes I think I have a motorboat instead of a son. You love making little motorboat noises with your lips and spitting all over anything. It’s unbelievably cute. You say Mama and you mean it, although sometimes it means Grandma and sometimes it even means Daddy. But you mean a person when you say it, and that’s what counts! Whenever Daddy tries to get you to say Dada, you say gaga… we’re not sure yet if that’s intentional or not.

You love your Leap Pad Learning Table. I’m so glad I asked for it on your baby registry! We get the music stuck in our heads all the time, and I’ve been caught humming it in the shower, but that’s okay because you seem to be learning quite a bit from it, not the least of which is that you can stay focused on one thing for more than five minutes.

You and Daddy went in the pool for the first time last week. The water was warm enough, unlike when I tried to take you in the previous week. You had a ball splashing around in your inflatable airplane. I’ll have to get a picture of it next time!

Whether you’re crawling, standing, cruising, or climbing, you don’t really fall much anymore. You sit or stoop carefully, gracefully – you know what you’re doing. You do climb all over anything higher than the floor, and we’re lucky you’re not tall enough to get out of the crib! You love to “sit” on your knees, and you’ve even started sitting Indian style.

I can’t wait to see what you do this month, buddy!
