Babies in Boxes – Spend Tons on Toys, They Still Play with the Box!

TJ loves boxes.  I don’t know what he’s pretending when he’s doing it, but he loves to climb into boxes of all sizes.  We buy the big boxes of Pampers Baby-Dry Diapers – the ones with 90-100 – and he loves to climb in and out of them once he’s pulled all the diapers out. 

I recently became a Tupperware lady, and he gets a kick out of sitting in the huge boxes that my Tupperware deliveries come in.  He’ll sit in there with his drink and a book or a toy for 10 or 20 minutes!  With an active toddler, that’s a very long time!

The funny thing is, he doesn’t care how big the box is.  He has a box of LEGO DUPLO blocks that he likes to sit in.  It just barely fits him, but he’ll sit in there and watch Nick Jr. for a few minutes at a time.  He also found it funny when I put the box over his head and mine, so that when we talked to each other, it echoed inside the box.  In this picture here, you can see he made a little nest for himself by lining the bottom of the box with some of his dirty laundry that he pulled from his laundry basket.

My husband got a new pair of sneakers, size 11, and I found TJ sitting in the shoebox!  He had one foot sticking out over the side because it didn’t quite fit, but he looked quite cozy!  He did need my help to get out, though.

Babies are silly creatures, aren’t they?
