I get regular action alerts from a number of organizations, and sometimes I think they’re important enough to share with my readers. This is an action alert I received from MomsRising, and I think that all moms would  support this cause regardless of political affiliations.

This is the letter I sent, and you can send one, too:

Dear Dr. Frank Torti, Acting FDA Commissioner,

As one of the 150,000 members of MomsRising.org, an organization for moms and everyone who has a mom, I call on you to strengthen your commitment to food safety by developing a plan to prevent future salmonella outbreaks in America’s peanut butter products.

After two major recalls of peanut products in the last two years, parents want to make sure that the Food and Drug Administration and the peanut industry are proactively working to ensure safe peanut products.

Thank you in advance for your leadership in making food products safe for children and families.

Will you join me in calling on the FDA to ensure the safety of the food we feed our children?
